08/08 Monday: Olympian Danielle Scott-Arruda, Beyond The Badge, Clarinetist Pete Fountain Dies, Jason Dore


Danielle Scott-Arruda

 Arruda is an American-Brazilian indoor volleyball player. She has played at the 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008 and the 2012 Summer Olympics, breaking a U.S. female volleyball athlete record for Olympic appearances.  Scott-Arruda describes some of her favorite moments from previous games.

Linda Hull

Beyond the Badge was founded by Linda Hull in 2016.  It recognizes Louisiana law enforcement officers who perform extraordinary acts of kindness beyond that which is required by their oaths of office. Beyond the Badge is a non-profit organization that is operated entirely by volunteers and funded by corporate and private donations. Hull describes her personal story as it relates to drunk driving and her involvement in M.A.D.D.


Pete Fountain

The 86-year-old clarinetist died Saturday, August 6.  A previously recorded interview with Jim and Fountain remembers some of the musician's favorite moments.

Jason Dore
