HOUR ONE: 

Jay Dardenne

Jay Dardenne is currently the Lieutenant Governor.  He is running as a Republican in the upcoming Gubernatorial election.  He joins Jim today to comment on the upcoming Miss USA Pageant despite the NBC fallout with Donald Trump.  

Dardenne answers a caller's question about his stance on higher education.  "This is important," he says, "We're going to fund it."

Garret Graves is the Congressman proudly serving for District 6.  He reports on the Coastal Protection settlement with BP regarding the disastrous oil spill.

Patricia Gunter

Patricia Gunter is a Justice of the Peace in Grant Parish.  Rather than perform same sex marriages, Gunter has resigned.  She shares her views and hopes that she may be able to step down quietly since she feels it would be sinful to perform duties as a justice she does not believe in.

C. B. Forgotston is a long time politico.  Forgotston will give his take on Bobby Jindal's recent presidential fundraiser and the reception he held in the Governor's mansion.  Forgotston also gives his opinion on the NBC fiasco with Donald Trump and the canceled televising of the Miss USA pageant.

David Vitter: "The greatest personal challenge in my life was issues in my marriage many years ago.  In my work in public life... Hurricanes Katrina and Rita." 

Scott Angelle: Angelle says his greatest personal challenge was when he lost his 19 year old sister in a car accident just before college.  

John Bel Edwards: "My army experience in ranger school... I learned what my limits are." 

Jay Dardenne: Dardenne says his greatest personal challenge was his prostate cancer.

John Delgado is the Metro City Councilman for District 12 in Baton Rouge.  He joins Jim today to comment on NBC pulling out of the Miss USA pageant, which will not be televised because of Donald Trump's remarks about Hispanics.  Delgado laments Trump's words since Baton Rouge will no longer receive tourism advertisement from the Miss USA pageant.

Paul Davidson is an Executive Director of Blackbear Conservation Coalition.  

GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATES

Jim will play a clip from the conference in New Orleans from this past weekend.  Each of the four gubernatorial candidates will make a statement on the same sex marriage decision by the Supreme Court.

Rabbi Barry Weinstein joins Jim to discuss the same sex marriage decision by the Supreme Court.  Rabbi Weinstein gives his support to the decision and even proclaims he would officiate a same sex wedding "yesterday."

Carey Martin

Carey Martin is the Director of Public Relations at the Louisiana Farm Bureau.  "Louisiana farmers have had a really great run for the past few years... great commodity prices, great weather, great crop yields."  Martin joins Jim as he hosts the 93rd Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation Annual Meeting at the Marriott in New Orleans.  Tomorrow, Jim will moderate an exchange between the Farm Bureau and each of the four Gubernatorial candidates.  

Les Duhe'

Les Duhe' is a noted political consultant.  He gives his opinion on each of the four gubernatorial candidates.  "We put a very high premium on being entertained, and the worst thing you can be as a politician is boring," Duhe' says.  

Governor Q&A

Gubernatorial candidates John Bel Edwards, Jay Dardenne, and Scott Angelle deliver their opinions on the following question: 

"What are your observations of the SAVE fund, which was approved by the legislature, and if elected Governor, are you inclined to preserve it or rescind it?
Jay Dardenne says YES we need to keep funding at at least current levels. 
John Bel Edwards says I absolutely commit to maintain funding for the LSU Ag Center and the Southern University Ag Center.
Scott Angelle says, "When farmers thrive, we all thrive... I will give my 100% support... at current levels or higher."

Jake Delhomme

Jack Delhomme is a former NFL quarterback.  He played in college football at ULL, then went onto the Saints before he played in the European NFL.  He returned in 1999 to play for the Saints before he moved onto the Panthers as starting quarterback.  He is being inducted into the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame.
