Milt Larsen

Founder of the Magic Castle, a private club for magicians and enthusiasts, Milt Larsen chats with Jim about the history of the castle. He also comments on a new book, Magic Castle: Beyond the Smoke and Mirrors, which gives readers a glimpse inside the historic clubhouse located in Los Angeles.  

Sage Foley

Executive Director of Baton Rouge Green, Sage Foley, joins Jim in studio to discuss the importance of conservation in the Capital City and around the state. Foley says the organization focuses on the importance and benefits of trees and works hard in replacement efforts. 

Alvin Felzenberg

Author Alvin Felzenberg chats with Jim about his latest book, A Man and His Presidents: The Political Odyssey of William F. Buckley Jr.

Hour One

Jerome Loving

Author Jerome Loving was the first guest on the show and spoke about his latest book, Jack and Norman. Loving is the author of several books and is a Professor of English at Texas A&M University. Loving was originally born in Philadelphia and attended Duke University. 

Roger Cador

Roger Cador came on air to discuss his retirement as the head coach of the Southern Jaguar's baseball team at Southern University. Cador was first announced as the head coach of the team prior to the 1985 season. Cador himself played basketball and baseball for Southern back in the 70s.

Mary Stein

Mary Stein is the assistant director of the East Baton Rouge Parish Library; she gave details about the libraries summer reading program and other events at the library.

Jim Mayer

 

Jim Mayer of Mayer Co. Clothiers in Baton Rouge, will be discussing a number of topics, including the stability of national and international government. Mayer Co. Clothiers was a family owned store that closed its doors in 20ll; Mayer was the President and owner.

Political Analyst Jay Connaughton chats with Jim about the ongoing legislative session in the state. Connaughton comments on Governor John Bel Edwards' Commercial Activity tax plan and the lack of support it gained from legislators.

CEO and Founder of the Baton Rouge AIDS Society Rev. A.J. Johnson joins Jim to discuss the growth of AIDS in Louisiana. Johnson says 33% of people who find out they have HIV receive an AIDS diagnosis shortly after.  Baton Rouge in number one in the country for it's AIDS rate.

Jim Mayer

Owner and President of Mayer Co. Clothiers in Baton Rouge joins Jim in studio to talk about the health system in Louisiana.  Mayer comments on what Governor Bobby Jindal has done for the health care system and how difficult it will be to improve it when John Bel Edwards takes office in two weeks.

Former State Senator Tony Guarisco joins the show to discuss Governor Bobby Jindal's legacy and the future of Louisiana under the leadership of John Bel Edwards.
