Lori Perkins

Lori Perkins is the editor/author of 25 erotic romance anthologies and is the founder of the L. Perkins Literary Agency, and a former adjunct professor of journalism at NYU. She is one of the authors of Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Watergate but Were Afraid to Ask and discussed the book on air. 

Adam St. Pierre

Adam St. Pierre is with the EBR Parish Library and will be here to talk about the beer lecture series happening at the library. The Library will be serving beer and discussing the historical brewing of New Orleans beer. It takes place at 6 pm on August 9th.

Hour Two

Dr. Stephen Etheredge and Dr. Ray Castle 

Doctors Stephen Etheredge and Ray Castle will be on air to talk about concussions. Dr. Etheredge is the team doctor over the concussion program at LSU and Dr. Castle is head of the Athletic Training program curriculum that trains AT students.

Gus Weill

Former Public Relations specialist and auhtor Gus Weill was on air to comment on President Trump and his comments about North Korea.

Former four-term Governor Edwin Edwards turns 90-years-old today. Jim remembers the Cajun Prince's life and plays an interview from Talk Louisiana with Edwards. 

Hour 2:

Reginald Pitcher

Rev. Reginald Pitcher joins Jim in studio to discuss race relations in Louisiana and around the country. Pitcher is the former pastor of the Greater Baptist Sixty-Aid Church in the Gardere area of Baton Rouge.

Dr. Peter Kalmus was here to talk about the book he authored titled, Being the Change: Live Well and Spark a Climate Revolution. Peter Kalmus is an atmospheric scientist at Caltech/Jet Propulsion Laboratory with a Ph.D. in physics from Columbia University.

Television host Josh Bernstein will speak on John McCain and how he holds the solution to repeal and replace Obamacare even with his "no" vote. Bernstein is also with AMAC (Association for Mature American Citizens).

Jasmine Heiss is the Director of Coalitions and Outreach for the Coalition of Public Safety. She discussed their "Champions of Justice Reform" campaign and addressed incarceration and how to break the cycle and help prisoners get their lives on track.

 

Kristie Overstreet

Kristie Overstreet is a sexologist, sex therapist and counselor among other things. She works with many different types of clients of all sexualities and transgender people. She spoke about Donald Trump's transgender ban in the military and other topics.

E. Faye Williams and Darell Glasper 

 

E. Faye Williams and Darrell Glasper talked about day 195 of Trump's presidency and his plan to do away with Affirmative Action on college campuses.

Staff reporter at the Daily Report chats with Jim about a legislative audit into land bought on Bluebonnet Blvd. and Jefferson Hwy, in Baton Rouge. Developer Radu Cosman purchased the property for only $10,000 from an auction by the City-Parish. 

Jerry Stovall

Former LSU football coach and player, Jerry Stovall, joins the conversation to discuss the rebranding of the Baton Rouge Sports Foundation. He also comments on the serious health consequences concussions have on football players during and after the careers. The American Medical Association has recently been studying the dangerous effects of head injuries in football and other contact sports. 

Hour 2:

Denny McLain

Former professional baseball player with the Detroit Tigers, Denny McLain, calls into the show to chat about the MLB. McLain compares today's pitchers to pitchers in his generation. He also remembers and discusses the 1967 riots in Detroit. 

Roy Fletcher

Political Consultant Roy Fletcher joins Jim in studio to chat about the Trump presidency. Fletcher also comments on Anthony Scaramucci's short time as the White House Communications Director.
