Jason Turbow

Jason Turbow is a best-selling author and sports journalist; he discussed with Jim his latest book titled, Dynastic, Bombastic, Fantastic. The book focuses on the baseball team the Oakland Athletics and owner Charlie Finley. He discusses the players and the success of the team in the early 70s.

Mary Jennings "MJ" Hegar

Mary Jennings Hegar is an Air Force Veteran and a Purple Hear recipient. She earned the Distinguished Flying Cross during her time in the Air Force and is only the 6th women in history to receive one. She talked with Jim about her memoir. Shoot Like A Girl, available now. 

Ian Birnie

Ian Birnie is the Programming Director of the Louisiana International Film Festival (LIFF) and was the former film curator for LAMCA. Birnie held the position of LACMA's Film Department Director for 14 years. He discussed on the show some of the themes and movies of this year's festival.

Roger Villere is the chairman of the Louisiana Republican Party and has been since 2004. He has been elected for six straight terms and is running for a seventh term. Villere is originally from New Orleans and now resides in Metairie, Jefferson Parish.

Cynthia Peterson

Cynthia Peterson joins Jim in studio and is the first female Dean of the LSU College of Science. Peterson is a native of Shreveport. She was the previous Dean of the College of Science at The University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Peterson gives details on the upcoming event called, Hidden Figures Revealed on March 17th. A panel of women in science will take questions after a viewing of the film, Hidden Figures, at 5:00 p.m at the LSU Union Theater. 

Jeff Palermo

News Director with the Louisiana Radio Network Jeff Palermo chats with Jim in studio about the resignation of U.S. Attorney Walt Green of Louisiana's middle district and the reaction of many in the community. He also comments on rumors of the resignation of LSP Col. Mike Edmonson. 

Renee Chatelain

Renee Chatelain with the Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge joins Jim in studio to discuss the Ebb and Flow Festival in the Capital City. The festival takes place at the Baton Rouge River Front on April 1-2. For more information on the festival visit artsbr.org

Dean of the Roger Hadfield Ogden Honors College at Louisiana State University Dr. Jonathan Earle chats with Jim about his class on Georgetown University's sale of 272 slaves back in 1838 to Louisiana.

Zachary Richard

Zachary Richard is singer/songwriter that focuses on Cajun and Zydeco music. He is very successful with a discography that dates back 1972. He has five studio albums that have been certified gold in Canada out 16 he has recorded. He was born in Lafayette, La.

Lod Cook

Lod Cook is a successful businessman and a graduate of Louisiana State University, class of 1950. He is originally from Grande Cane, La and now resides in Sherman Oaks, Ca. He was chairman CEO of Atlantic Richfield Company in 1986 and kept his position until 1995. It was considered the best led US company during his reign. 

 

Dianne Reeves

Dianne Reeves is a Grammy award-winning jazz vocalist from Detroit, Michigan. She was first noticed by trumpeter Clark Terry in Chicago while in high school; she toured with Harry Belafonte in the early 80s. She will be performing wit the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra on March 11 at the Baton Rouge River Center.

Darrell Glasper and Dr. E Faye Williams

Darell Glasper and Dr. E Faye Williams return to debate on Trump and his presidency. Glasper is a former Metro Councilman and Dr. Williams was the first African-American to run a congressional campaign in Louisiana.

We're joined by Mark Kram, Jr. to remember the The Fight of the Century on this day 46 years ago. The Fight of the Century is the boxing match between heavyweight champion Joe Frazier and and heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali. Frazier won in 15 rounds via unanimous decision. It was the first time that two undefeated boxers fought each other for the heavyweight title.

The Republican political consultant joins the show to talk about Donald Trump's policies and decisions since elected POTUS.
