The stories are about the powerful reach of LSU sports and the passion that comes with a long history of excellence. Marx joins the studio to describe his relationship with Bert Jones, Dale Brown and his journey to Baton Rouge.

Well-established journalist, writer, and politico, Honeycutt joins Jim in the second hour to discuss David Vitter, Foster Campbell and John Kennedy.  Honeycutt discusses radio spots from Foster Campbell and talks about the upcoming Senate race with Jim. 

12/02 Friday: Raising Cane's River Center, Deeply Rooted, Sam Goodwin & Chuck Redden

Michael Day

The General Manager of the Raising Cane's River Center joins the show to talk about the 2% hotel occupancy tax that will be on the ballot December 10th.  Day hopes that the tax will help to fund tourism and renovations for the River Center. 1 cent of the tax goes to Visit Baton Rouge and the other cent goes toward the River Center.

Christina Melton 

Veteran producer at Louisiana Public Broadcasting joins the show to promote a documentary coming Tuesday, December 6th at 7pm on LPB. Deeply Rooted is the story of John Coykendall’s passion to preserve the farming heritage. The seeds and stories of a small, farming culture in Southeastern Louisiana and this work is the subject of this new documentary.

Sam Goodwin

Former coach of Ed Orgeron at Northwestern State University, Goodwin remembers the first time he met Orgeron, praises him for his accomplishments and describes what makes him a good coach.

HOUR TWO

Chuck Redden

Redden is famous for his parody songs on YouTube and he joins the show to talk about the songs he created during the presidential election.  Jim plays , "Can't Touch Me," a parody about Hillary Clinton and "Trump You," since Donald won the election.

Bernie Pinsonat is a pollster who joined the show to weigh in on the Louisiana Senate race. His business partner at Southern Media and Opinion Research launched the first poll for the company and since, Pinsonat has become prominent in Louisiana politics.

Recurring show guest Mark Ballard from The Advocate went live on air to weigh in on the 2016 Louisiana Senate race.

Jay Connaughton

Connaughton is a native of Louisiana and the man behind Donald Trump's political advertisements that helped him become president-elect. He is originally from Covington and attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He has worked on many major campaigns throughout his career.  

Tonnisha Ellis 

Tonisha Ellis is the LYFE Program Director from the Governor's Office joined the show for World AIDS Day. Baton Rouge has the highest rate of AIDS in the state of Louisiana with New Orleans not very far behind.

David W. Moore is a senior fellow with the Carsey Institute at the University of New Hampshire. He is a former Vice President of the Gallup Organization and Managing Editor of the Gallup Poll, where he worked from 1993 until 2006. Moore joins the show to talk about the recount demanded by presidential candidate Jill Stein.

George J. Mitchell

George J. Mitchell is a politician, attorney and former U.S. Special Envoy for Middle East Peace. He served as a United States senator in his home state of Maine from 1980 to 1995 and Senate Majority Leader for six years. He discussed his new book: A Path to Peace: A Brief History of Israeli-Palestinian Negotiations and a Way Forward in the Middle East.

Bill Grimley

Bill Grimley is a Louisiana attorney originally from Mississippi. He graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in history and LSU School of Law in 1974. In addition to practicing law he writes fiction novels and has published two books, Perception and The Benefactor.

What is the future state of Democratic Party after the election? Trey Ourso, a Democratic political consultant, shared his thoughts on this topic on the air. Ourso can also be recognized as the former Executive Director of the Louisiana Democratic Party.

LSU has hired Coach Ed Orgeron as it's new head coach and columnist Glenn Guilbeau thinks it made a mistake.  Guilbeau joins the show to talk about the hiring process and the university's first pick.
