Sharon Weston Broome

Candidate for Baton Rouge Mayor and former state Senator Sharon Weston Broome joins Jim in studio to discuss the election and the historic flooding southern Louisiana recently faced. Broome's home, along with thousands of others, was flooded during the massive rain event. 

Mark Davis

Author and talk-show host Mark Davis chats with Jim about San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick not standing during the National Anthem. Davis also comments on the upcoming presidential election. 

Hour 2: 

John Barry

Author John Barry chats with Jim about his book, Rising Tide, which discusses the Great Mississippi Flood of 1927. Barry talks about the similarities of the recent historic flooding in southern Louisiana and the flood during the late 1920's. Rising Tide was named one of the 50 best books of all kinds by the New York Public Library in 2005. 

Gus Weill

Political Consultant Gus Weill chats with Jim about the sexting scandal of the husband of Hillary Clinton's long term aide, Huma Abedin. This is former U.S. Representative Anthony Weiner's third sexting scandal. Weill also comments on the overall presidential election and the recent flooding in southern Louisiana.

Gray is the author of Familiar Evil, which reveals details of the hunt for Scott Rogers. This is a story told by those inside the investigation with the help of heroic British survivors of Scott Rogers’ abuse. Gray visits with Jim about the story that unfolded in Baton Rouge a few years ago on this show.

Tom Schedler

Sec. of State, Schedler discusses voting and how they are finding innovative new ways for those relocated by the storm to cast their vote in the 2016 election.

Phil Preis

Attorney Phil Preis joins the show on the 11th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina to talk about the financial component and effects of the flood in Baton Rouge.

State Senator Bodi White is running for Mayor-President this year.  A native of Central, LA, White talks about the status of the area since the flooding of Louisiana.  He also explains what he would do for the education system if elected as Mayor. 

Liz Pryor

Liz Pryor is an author, speaker, parenting columnist and life advice expert. She joins the show to talk about her book, Look at You Now. Her story is about the most vulnerable moments in our lives and how a willingness to trust ourselves can permanently change who we are and how we see the world.

HOUR TWO

Dayne Sherman & Scott Wilfong

Political consultants Wilfong and Sherman talk about the elections of 2016, the Senate race in Louisiana and discuss whether the Presidential race is already won in the last few months.

08/25 Thursday: Mike Strain, Mike Wolf, Lamar White, Humberto Fontova

Hour 1: 

Mike Strain

Commissioner of Agriculture Dr. Mike Strain joins Jim in studio to talk about how the historic flooding has affected crops and livestock in the state. He discusses the recovery process for farmers in the state. Strain plans to visit Cuba again on October 3rd - 7th with Governor John Bel Edwards. 

Mike Wolf

Attorney and Libertarian Mike Wolf chats with Jim about the upcoming presidential election. Wolf says Gary Johnson is the strongest candidate the Libertarian party has ever seen. 

Hour 2: 

Lamar White

Political consultant and blogger Lamar White chats with Jim about the presidential election. White is a supporter of democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. 

Humberto Fontova

Political commentator Humberto Fontova discusses the presidential election and how candidate Donald Trump is getting his vote even though he doesn't like him. 

08/24 Wednesday: Dan Claitor, Connections Academy, Chris Tyson, Abhay Patel

HOUR ONE

Dan Claitor

State Senator Dan Claitor talks about the status of Louisiana government since the flood and the fiscal budget as compared to Katrina.  Claitor hopes that the people of Louisiana will learn from previous tragedies.

Michael Marsh

Former WBRZ anchorman joins the show to talk about the recent Baton Rouge flood. Marsh is now employed at Connections Academy, a tuition-free, fully accredited online public school for students in grades K–12. The academy could be an option available to many students in Louisiana.

HOUR TWO

Chris Tyson

Baton Rouge native, Chris Tyson, talks about the community and what it needs to do in order to recover from the recent flooding.  Tyson touches on the Presidential campaign as well.

Abhay Patel

Abhay Patel is running for Louisiana's U.S. Senate.  He joins the show to talk about his campaign and the flood in Baton Rouge.
