12/29 Tuesday: Ed Sanders, Alan Risher, Louis Koerner, Jr., Laurie Shrage

HOUR ONE

Countercultural icon, he co-founded the raunchy, avant-garde rock band The Fugs and was instrumental in the Youth International Party — commonly called the Yippies. Ed Sanders is also the author of "The Family" about the killing of Sharon Tate, orchestrated by Charles Manson.

Alan Risher was QB for the USFL Arizona Wranglers, and later an NFL QB for the Green Bay Packers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. A graduate of LSU, Risher talks with Jim about the Texas Bowl and his predictions for who'll win.

HOUR TWO

"Mr. Louis" Koerner, Jr. has over forty years experience practicing complex litigation in Louisiana. A native New Orleanian, Mr. Louis moved briefly to Houma following Hurricane Katrina while his law office underwent repair, and now operates law offices in both cities.

Laurie Shrage is an American political and moral philosopher whose analysis of the agendas for social change advanced by gender and sexual dissidents has been influential.

CEO and Founder of the Baton Rouge AIDS Society Rev. A.J. Johnson joins Jim to discuss the growth of AIDS in Louisiana. Johnson says 33% of people who find out they have HIV receive an AIDS diagnosis shortly after.  Baton Rouge in number one in the country for it's AIDS rate.

Jim Mayer

Owner and President of Mayer Co. Clothiers in Baton Rouge joins Jim in studio to talk about the health system in Louisiana.  Mayer comments on what Governor Bobby Jindal has done for the health care system and how difficult it will be to improve it when John Bel Edwards takes office in two weeks.

C.C talks about his 16 hour days, when on assignment from sun up to sun down, and also talks about when he first fell in love with Louisiana.  He discusses how he started 42 years ago, and how his wife quit teaching to join him with this book. C.C enjoys capturing the beauty of Louisiana.

AUTHOR ED SANDERS

Author Ed Sanders discusses his book " Sharon Tate: A Life", and how actress Sharon Tate's life was taken 46 years ago by the Manson family Cult. Sanders' said, "some women are just beautiful, but she was beautiful and stunning" , and to lose her life at such a young age, pregnant, and married, was tragic.
