HOUR ONE: 

Kate Black

Kate Black is has lived and worked in the major fashion centers of the world and written over 1,000 articles about designers and ethical fashion from her decidedly global perspective. She is the founder and editor-in-chief of Magnifeco.com, the digital source for eco-fashion and sustainable living. Kate is also the founder of EcoSessions, a global platform bringing together designers, industry, and consumers to discuss change. She is regularly featured on the Huffington Post and is highly in demand as a speaker on ethical fashion at regional and national green living events.

Remembering John Ferguson

John Ferguson was an announcer for LSU.  He passed away ten years ago this month.  Jim remembers his life and career.

George Kennedy

George Kennedy is a Louisiana political consultant.  He is the brother of State Treasurer John Kennedy.  He also worked on Jay Dardenne's Gubernatorial campaign this past year.  Kennedy discusses the upcoming Louisiana Senate election and the dynamics behind the preparations. 

12/10 Thursday: Frank Sinatra, 2016 Presidential Election, and Reflecting on the New Governor Elect

HOUR ONE: 

James Kaplan

In November 2010, Doubleday published Frank: The Voice, the first volume of Kaplan’s definitive biography of Frank Sinatra, which quickly went onto the New York Times bestseller list and was chosen by Times chief book critic Michiko Kakutani as one of her Top Ten Books of 2010. In 2011, Kaplan signed with Doubleday to write Volume Two, Sinatra: The Chairman, to be published in 2015. In 2012, James Kaplan was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship in nonfiction. "The first book kind of romanticizes this musical troubadour," Kaplan says, "The second book is about power."  Kaplan calls Sinatra a "Mozartian genius."

Elliott Stonecipher 

Elliott Stonecipher is a Louisiana pollster.  He comments on the 2016 Presidential election and the upcoming GOP CNN Debate on Tuesday of next week.  "The idea that it's just going to be a Republican and a Democrat next year...I'm just not buying it.  I think there is still a very real risk on the Hillary Clinton side of the issue regarding the emails...Can Donald Trump be perfect timing for president next year? Absolutely." 

12/09 Wednesday: "Approaching Ali" Author Davis Miller, Donald Trump Deporting Muslims, and Gumbo Pac Trey Ourso

HOUR ONE: 

Davis Miller is the author of international bestsellers including The Tao of Muhammad Ali: A Fathers and Sons Memoir and Tao of Bruce Lee: My Martial Arts Memoir.  He is also the co-librettist of a chamber opera that is based on his transformed-by-Ali stories. He is at work on a harrowing yet comic memoir about having been recently kidnapped in China and on an obsessive modern love novel.  Today he shares his latest book, Approaching Ali. "I think he saved me from what might have been an otherwise, bad, miserable existence."   

Darrell White

Judge Darrell White is the founder and president of the Retired Judges of America.  In light of GOP Presidential Candidate Donald Trump's recent statements on deporting all Muslims and banning them further entry to America, Ourso speculates the constitutionality of such a statement should Trump win the presidency.

Trey Ourso

Trey Ourso is the former executive director of the Louisiana Democratic Party.  He is the director of the Gumbo PAC.  Gumbo PAC is a non-partisan clearinghouse of information focused on educating Louisiana voters about U.S. Senator David Vitter's disgraceful public record.  He discusses the improbable win of now Governor-Elect John Bel Edwards.

Elizabeth Crisp

Elizabeth Crisp is a capitol reporter for The Baton Rouge Advocate.  She comments on Les Miles and John Bel Edwards.

John Wirt

John Wirt is a reporter for the Baton Rouge Advocate.  Thirty-five years ago, music legend John Lennon was killed in his home at Dakota.  Wirt remembers Lennon's legacy and career.  

12/07 Monday: LSU's Stephen Moret, Frank Sinatra Authority Sid Mark, and Filmmaker Al Reinert

HOUR ONE: 

Sid Mark

Sid Mark launched The Sounds of Sinatra in Philadelphia 59 years ago. It all began as a call from a listener, who suggested that Sid spin one hour of Frank Sinatra.  Mark's Sunday with Sinatra show airs from 8am-1pm every week. The Philadelphia program has been ranked #1 in nearly every demographic.  This is the only radio program of its kind to have been personally authorized by Frank Sinatra.   Mark remembers the late music legend as Sinatra's 100th Birthday falls on December 12th, later this week.  

Al Reinert

An award-winning American film director, screenwriter and producer, Al Reinert co-wrote the screenplay for Apollo 13, which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Writing, Screenplay. He received his second Oscar nomination for Best Documentary, Feature for the film, For All Mankind, which also garnered the Sundance Film Festival’s Audience Award, Documentary and Grand Jury Prize, Documentary. His most recent documentary, An Unreal Dream — The Michael Morton Story, won the SXSW Film Festival’s Audience Award for Best Documentary. - Reinert shares news of his latest documentary and film showing on Audubon: The Film, which will premiere at Perkins Rowe tomorrow. 

HOUR TWO: 

Stephen Moret

Stephen Moret, LSU alumnus and former Louisiana Economic Development Secretary, joined the LSU Foundation May 11, 2015 as president and CEO.  Moret received his MBA from Harvard.  He discusses the transition from the economic department of development and his first six months at LSU.  

12/04 Friday: Dukes of Hazzard's John Schneider Christmas Concert, Baton Rouge Beach Marathon, San Bernardino, and the Louisiana Governor's Election

HOUR ONE: 

John Schneider 

John Schneider is an actor and producer.  Schneider has a television show for every generation; from Bo on “Dukes of Hazzard” in the 80s, to Jonathan Kent on “Smallville”, and now Judge Jim Cryer in the smash Tyler Perry hit in “The Haves and the Have Nots”. He’s also starred numerous television movies and big screen films over the last 35 years.  Today he promotes his Christmas Concert tomorrow.  

Bart Yasso

The Baton Rouge Beach Marathon and Half Marathon races are Saturday, Dec. 5 at 7 am.  Bart Yasso joined Runner's World in 1987 to develop the groundbreaking Runner's World Race Sponsorship program, creating a vehicle for Runner's World to work with over 7,000 races representing 4 million runners per year.  Yasso also invented the Yasso 800s, a marathon-training schedule used by thousands around the world.  He is one of the few people to have completed races on all seven continents.

Raymond Strother

Raymond Strother is a bestselling author and well known politico.  He comments on the San Bernardino terrorist attack and the political implications that will follow this tragedy.  He also discusses the post mortem of the Louisiana Gubernatorial election.
