Jim Engster's Bio:

Jim Engster is a lifelong Louisiana Broadcaster. From his days at LSU through the present, Jim has been a reporter, observer and commentator on the events that have shaped Louisiana.

Jim’s experience includes time as the News Director at the Louisiana Radio Network and host of the statewide talk show “Louisiana Live” for six years. Jim has hosted an award winning show on WRKF, the public station in Baton Rouge, for the past eleven years.

“I’m excited about returning to the statewide footprint”, Engster says. “Louisiana is topic rich. Many stations are looking for more local content. This is really a win-win for the stations and listeners”, he added.

A graduate of LSU’s Manship School of Journalism, Jim was inducted into the Manship Hall of Fame in 2012. He is the President of the Louisiana Radio Network, the Baton Rouge Press Club and the National Association of State Radio Networks.

In addition, Jim appears regularly as a political analyst for WAFB-Channel 9 in Baton Rouge. He was named Communicator of the Year in 2008 by the Public Relations Association of Louisiana.
